The National Industrial Training Authority attaches over 15000 trainees every year. The Industrial Attachment programme is a product of broad based consultations among several stakeholders in industry.
It is a practical bridge between theoretical knowledge gained from learning institutions and the practical skills required for day to day operations of industries. NITA coordinates industrial attachment as an intervention to strengthen industrial training. The programme was initiated by the National Industrial Training Board as a strategic intervention to strengthen industrial training since 2004.
The Attachment programme enables students to experience real work and its challenges in their relevant industrial sectors. It is a transition from knowledge to a productivity in a work environment. Students develop work place competencies. The programme also enables employers to identify suitable candidates for future employment opportunities.
