Preventive measures against spread of Corona Virus (Covid-19) in the Authority

As you are aware, the outbreak of the Corona Virus (COVID-19) has caused global concern. The Government has put in place extensive measures to deal with the situation.

In adherence to the Government directives, The Authority further seeks to create a safe working environment through collective responsibility to prevent the spread of Corona Virus. As declared by World Health Organization as a Public Health emergency, Covid-19 symptoms include running nose, sore throat, cough and fever. The virus can be spread through bodily fluids, such as droplets in a cough. It might also be caused by touching surfaces an infected person has touched and transmitted through touching of hands, mouth, nose or eyes.

In view of the above, all staff, trainees and visitors to NITA premises are requested to adhere to the following hygiene practices in a deliberate effort to prevent and/or control spread of the disease:

  1. Washing hands with approved disinfectants especially after visiting washrooms, before eating and after blowing nose, coughing or sneezing.
  2. Covering coughs and sneezes with disposable tissues
  3. Keeping surroundings clean.
  4. Avoiding shaking of bare hands

The Authority appreciates your continued support in compliance not limited to the above measures and will endeavor to supplement the government efforts by providing water and disinfectants in earmarked areas.
