The i2i project is a 3-year multi-country initiative funded by DFID and implemented both in Kenya and Bangladesh. The project will engage through a triple nexus by working with Government, Private sector and persons with Disability and their respective DPOs.
NITA is one of the Government Agencies collaborating with APDK on the Project, with the Authority’s role being to train 3,000 youth with disabilities in hard skills. The youth will be trained across NITA’s 5 Industrial Training Centres in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu.
On 25th August 2020 a team comprised of staff from both APDK and CBK met with the Ag. Director General Mr. Stephen Ogenga. The meeting was aimed at assessing NITA’s Centre accessibilities, policies as well as programmes targeted at People Living with Disabilities, with the team from both institutions conducting a Monitoring and Evaluation of NITA’s Centres in readiness for the commencement of the Project which will run from 2019 to 2022.
