- CS Fridah Ng'alu is the Corporation Secretary & Director, Legal Services at the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA), where she provides strategic legal leadership and oversees corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and Board secretarial services. In this role, she anchors NITA's legal and governance framework within the mandate of the Industrial Training Act, supporting the Authority's tripartite governance structure comprising Government, Employers, and Workers.
She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a Certified Secretary, and an Accredited Governance Auditor with over 15 years of experience in legal practice, public sector administration, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, policy development, and dispute resolution. Prior to joining NITA, she served as Director of Legal Services and Corporation Secretary at the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK), where she played a key role in strengthening governance frameworks, supporting regulatory reforms, and providing strategic legal and governance advisory services to the Board and Management, thereby enhancing institutional compliance, accountability, and operational integrity. Ng'alu holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law, and a Master of Science in Leadership and Governance. She is a member of the Law Society of Kenya and the Institute of Certified Secretaries of Kenya. With a strong commitment to ethical leadership, accountability, and institutional excellence, she is passionate about advancing good governance, strengthening public institutions, and promoting the rule of law in support of sustainable national development.

CS- DR DOMINIC OMBOTO, PhD

VIEW PROFILEQUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE Dr. Dominic Omboto is the Manager, Accreditation and Registration at the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA), a position he has held since May 2026. He brings extensive experience in education, research, strategy, policy development, quality assurance, and institutional leadership acquired over two decades of service in the public sector and academia. He began his career as a Physics and Mathematics teacher at Nyabururu Girls High School before joining the Public Service Commission and being deployed to the National Youth Service Technical College as a Building Construction lecturer. During his nine years at the institution, he taught Technical Drawing, Mathematics, and Financial Accounting at both Diploma and Certificate levels. In 2018, Dr. Omboto joined the TVET Authority as Assistant Director, Research and Strategy. In this role, he led several transformative initiatives, including guiding the Authority to ISO 9001:2015 certification, developing research policies and procedures, introducing the Kenya Journal of TVET (KJ-TVET), establishing a customer service charter, and spearheading business process re-engineering. In 2022, he moved to the Nairobi Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (NaMATA) as Deputy Director, Corporate Policy, Research and Strategy before joining NITA. Academically, Dr. Omboto holds a PhD in Business Administration (Strategic Management), an MBA (Strategic Management), a Bachelor of Education in Building and Civil Engineering, CPA(K), CPS(K), a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management, and a Professional Certificate in Project Management from Google. He has further enhanced his expertise through executive and professional training in leadership, management, quality auditing, and integrity assurance. Beyond his institutional roles, Dr. Omboto has served on the KASNEB Examinations Technical Sub-Committee, advised the National Construction Authority on research matters, and consulted for numerous organizations on strategic planning, curriculum development, governance, and competency-based education and training. He also has over 13 years of university teaching experience across several institutions. His professional interests include strategic planning, leadership and ethics, corporate governance, research, curriculum development, and competence-based education and training.

Before joining NITA in 2015, he previously worked with Public Service Commission, IEBC, Kibos and Mumias Sugar Industriesy.He holds MBA in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi, a Bachelor of Technology Education (Electrical & Electronics Engineering) from the University of Eldoret and Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Kisumu Polytechnic. He is skilled in Solar PV & Renewable Energy from IEET JKUAT and a graduate Technical Trainer from the KTTC.
Professional qualifications includes Strategic Leadership Development (SLDP) and Senior Management Course (SMC) from Kenya School of Government, ISO 9001:2015 Internal Quality Auditor based on ISO 19011:2011 & Enterprise Risk Management Specialist.
Current Serving Responsibilities include; A Certified Trustee Serving at the NITA Staff Pension Scheme Board of Trustees; A Governing Council Member of Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) and Chairperson KIM Kisumu Branch;
Internationally, he is an alumni of International Training Centre of the ILO having studied Financing Industry Skills Development particularly funding models, strategies, partnerships, best global practices and sustainability in Turin Italy; Represented and made presentations in Dubai, UAE conference on Global trends in pension ecosystem; In Singapore - Global Lessons Shaping the Future, Securing Sustainable Growth Through Leadership, Investment & Innovation and ; in Cape Town, South Africa - The Portfolio of The Future: Unlocking the Possibilities of Alternative Investments.
He therefore brings this wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise to NITA’s critical department of Industrial Training Development in administering industrial training schemes namely Apprenticeships (furthering ILO convention Recommendation 208 on quality apprenticeships); Indentured Learnership; Industrial Attachments and Skills Upgrading programs for employers in Kenya and beyond. Additionally he will strive to help the Authority strengthen partnerships and linkages between the Industry and training institutions as per the scope of Industrial Training Act Cap. 237 Laws of Kenya.
